Bailey

A phone call came in 2 months ago to Pug Rescue asking us if we could find a home for a 3year old Pug who had to have some surgery before she could be released to us. Even though we were worried about the expense, we were happy to receive such a beautiful young Pug. It turned out that a technician working in a Vet's office knew about us and explained the circumstances.

Bailey had been biting and chasing her tail so much that the owner told the Vet to "put her down". He did not, as he knew she would find a great home. It turned out that most of her tail had to be amputated because of massive infection, followed by a fairly long hospital stay following surgery. After about 2 weeks one of our volunteers picked her up and settled down to also foster her. Just two days before the arranged pickup, we received a call from a lovely sounding family who were ready for a Pug after being "Pugless" for over a year! They drove the very next day from Oxnard, fell in love (as did Bailey) and after spending some time with them, knew we had the perfect family. To quote Tanya, the new "Pug Mom", "Bailey adores my two boys who love to play with her and she and the cat lie down together at night. She has brought so much joy into our lives. Thank you Pug Rescue Santa Barbara."
We were waiting for the Vet's bill with much trepidation only to discover that he donated all his services!! "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus".
