MOXIE, THE WONDER-PUG

February 10 marked an important date for this Santa Barbara Pug Rescue success-story: it was the first anniversary of her adoption by her new 'daddies', Jay Albert and Brian Meeder of Santa Barbara, CA.

In December of 2001, this little girl was literally snatched from the jaws of death by Connie and Don Phillips of Santa Barbara Pug Rescue . The result of horrid abuse on the part of her former owners, this malnourished pug weighed only ten pounds, had a raging bladder infection and fever, coupled with a severe skin condition which had cost her the majority of her lovely fawn coat. Immediate intervention by the Phillips and the professional and loving care of the staff at White's Pet Hospital in Santa Barbara saved her life. Within two short months, under the loving care of Connie and Don, this angel was back to her 'fighting weight' and good health…..and was placed in her new home. A recent "after" photo shows a happy, well-loved (uhm, 'spoiled', actually) and treasured family member in the Albert-Meeder household. Moxie (of which she has plenty!) is a lively little clown who romps with two nine month-old kittens, loves going on long walks, goes along to the family business on a daily basis and drives around town in her very own monogrammed car seat!

She celebrated her one-year anniversary with a few of her close dog friends (and their humans) at a party in her honor --- and in thanks for all rescue organizations like Pug Rescue Santa Barbara.
