Pope
(pronounced 'Popay')
Pope is shown here with one of
the three boys in his new family. Now leading the life of Riley, Pope is
a constant companion to his entire family and supervises them and all their
kid-friends at the beach, the park, and trips out of Santa Barbara.
Life wasn't always so kind to him.
His previous owners did not have the time or know-how to train Pope, and
he was left for long hours (often in the garage) every day while they worked.
He grew up fending for himself and had few house-manners, much less
people-manners. He came to us at 1 year old, unneutered and unhousebroken.
He was also aggressive in certain situations. But no more!
Once the neutering took effect,
the leg-lifting eased and he learned the ins and outs of endearing himself
to humans and becoming a model house-pug quickly.
Today Pope is named George, and
is very fortunate to have a stay-at-home mom and 3 boys to keep him occupied.
Never a dull moment--he is now one happy pug and his family is delighted
with him.
This is one pug who was turned
completely around -- just shows it can be done. How? A lot of love, firm
and consistent training when needed, a squirt gun he was terrified of (used
sparingly), and chicken he would do ANYTHING to get!
We'll miss you, Pope/George. But
we know you are going to have a wonderful life!
